India have announced their squads for the upcoming tour of South Africa. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested for the white-ball leg of the tour on their request, stated the BCCI in a media release. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20I squad while KL Rahul will lead in ODIs.

In addition, Rahul has also been earmarked as a wicket-keeper in the Test squad that sees a maiden call-up for Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle order. Veterans Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have not been picked in the Test squad. Mohammed Shami has been picked pending medical clearances, noted the BCCI
